The GIANTS will form part of a thrilling Saturday of Suncorp Super Netball when they take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning at the Quaycentre in Sydney.

The Quaycentre will play host to a finals series preview, with the top four teams of the competition all taking the court in Sydney as part of a double header.

The GIANTS come off a much needed  six point victory over the Queensland Firebirds in Canberra last weekend. The win helping them to remain in the tightly contested fourth position, four points ahead of the Collingwood Magpies.

Every win and every quarter is crucial for the GIANTS in their remaining three matches.

This weekend’s opponents, the Sunshine Coast Lightning, will be looking to carry forward the form from their two goal win over ladder leaders the Swifts in Round 11.

The GIANTS last took on the reigning premiers back in Round 5, which despite a strong first half saw them take only the two bonus points for the match. A third quarter lapse was to blame, so four consistent quarters will be required if the home side is to extend their winning streak to three.

The GIANTS best performing quarter during season 2019 has been the second, whilst they show a tendency to struggle in the fourth.

Of the previous six encounters, the GIANTS have only overcome the team from the Sunshine Coast twice. In Round 4 of the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball Season and most recently in Round 1 of 2018.

Jo Harten, who has claimed the last two Nissan Player of the Matches in the GIANTS wins, will be matched up with the inform Karla Pretrious – displaying one of the greatest international match ups the Suncorp Super Netball has to offer.

The GIANTS will be hoping for another strong performance from Caitlin Bassett, who had an impressive performance under the post last round, shooting 30/32 at 94%.

The round 12 game will be the last regular fixture match for the GIANTS at the QuayCentre. With limited tickets remaining, GIANTS fans are encouraged to get along and help get the team across the line.

The GIANTS take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning at the QuayCentre at 3pm on Saturday with members encouraged to stick around afterwards for the post match function at Netball Central.
