KIM GREEN

Happy 6th birthday @LadiesWhoLeague 🎉
Thank you for being incredible humans 🌟🌟

After reading the comments about injury prevalence in netball. I got thinking & I went back and started to re-read Nobel laureate psychologist Daniel Kahneman about the law of small numbers. Kahneman also suggested the mind is “a machine for jumping to conclusions.” 🤔

Captain of GIANTS Netball, Kim Green is one of the most recognisable netball players in the world. Green became captain of GIANTS Netball in the team’s 2017 inaugural season and has been a key force in shaping the team’s culture of unity and family.

Her leadership resume is impressive: NSW Swifts Co-Captain (2012-13), Australian Diamonds Vice-Captain (2013 & 2014), NSW Swifts Captain (2014-16), Australian Diamonds Captain (England Series in 2014) and GIANTS Netball Captain (2017-present).

Green is known for strategic vision and game-changing plays, along with her drive and leadership and played her 200th elite national netball game as a GIANT in 2019.

She made an impressive return to the game at the beginning of 2018 after a season-ending ACL injury in 2017, not missing a beat in helping lead GIANTS to lock-in a Top 4 spot for the duration of the season and helping the team secure the minor premiership.

In 2018, Green was a guiding force on the court as Captain, with 338 goal assists during the regular SSN season, along with 263 centre passes received, 11 deflections and 7 intercepts, making her one of the most valuable players on the GIANTS team.

Green brings a wealth of experience and skill to the table. The long-time NSW representative first made her debut for the Green & Gold in 2008; going on to make 74 appearances for the Diamonds, which included a Commonwealth Games Gold Medal (2014) and 2x Netball World Cup Gold Medals (2011, 2015).

Her accolades include being named as 2014 Trans-Tasman Netball League co-MVP, being named in the 2014-16 Trans-Tasman Netball League All-Stars Team, and being selected as the 2013-14 NSW Swifts’ QBE Most Valued Player and also the 2011-14 NSW Swifts Members’ Player of the Year.
